building a guided self-inquiry companion

A calm guide for clear seeing.

Mind Made Labs is exploring a guided companion that helps people investigate experience directly. The long-term aim is to soften the sense of a separate self, pointing toward what many describe as "no-self" or natural, effortless awareness.

Our goal isn’t to give advice; it’s to ask the right questions, at the right pace, until the answer becomes obvious in your own experience.

What is Mind Made Labs?

We’re an early-stage lab building tools for direct psychological insight, like a coach that asks better questions. Our first product is a conversational guide for self-inquiry: simple, structured, and surprisingly practical.

Early-stage means: less marketing, more iteration.

What we believe (practically)

  • People don’t need more advice; they need clearer seeing.
  • Short sessions beat long lectures.
  • Language should be ordinary, even when the insight is profound.

How the guide works

  • Start with what’s present: sensation, thought, emotion, or a real-life problem.
  • The chatbot asks precise questions and reflects back in simple terms.
  • You verify in your own experience: no belief, no jargon, no pretending.
  • Over time, inquiry can reveal that the "self" is more like a process than a thing.

What we’re building (early)

  • Guided flows for anxiety, rumination, self-criticism, and decision noise.
  • A “direct seeing” mode that gently questions the sense of “me”.
  • Session summaries (optional) that keep things useful and grounded.

We’ll talk about clarity, presence, and perspective, with no jargon or mystical language required.

Safety & boundaries

This is not therapy, medical advice, or crisis support. If you’re in immediate danger or at risk of self-harm, contact your local emergency number.

  • We bias toward grounded questions and practical language.
  • No claims of certainty; only prompts to verify.
  • Clear opt-outs and session controls.

Privacy (draft)

We’re designing for privacy from day one. The specifics will depend on hosting and model choices, but the intent is simple:

  • Minimize data collection.
  • Give people control over saving and deleting.
  • Be transparent about what’s stored and why.

Ship notes (occasional)

Short updates on what we’re building. No fluff.
